Desktop Pet Framework

Hey all! I made a little desktop pet!

Since MateEngine and Desktop Mate both don't work on Linux, I figured I'd make my own alternative that's lightweight, sprite-based, and available on all desktop platforms.

If you'd like to make your own custom character, just go to the Github page at https://github.com/solt-frfr/desktop-pet-framework.

You can install additional characters by placing them in the mods folder.

Windows: %APPDATA%\DesktopPetFramework\mods

macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/DesktopPetFramework/mods

Linux: ~/.local/share/DesktopPetFramework/mods

There is currently no download page for mods.

As an example mod, you can install this Superman pet I made for my dad.
